As gamers who have already pre-ordered Tom Clancy's The Division 2 wait patiently for the forthcoming action-RPG shooter's private beta, the general public still has to rely on vicarious information to learn how the followup will stand out from the original. When it comes to weaponry, it looks as if the sequel's exotic weapons and gear will have some changes and they will work somewhat similarly to those in Bungie's science fiction shooter Destiny 2.

According to a gameplay breakdown from the YouTuber known as Arrekz, much like the exotic gear in Destiny 2, each of The Division 2's exotic weapons will have their own lore to make them more unique. What's more is that these special armaments will be a lot more powerful this time around. Another feature similar to Destiny 2 is how players will be limited to one exotic weapon and one exotic piece of gear in their loadout at a time, with these items capable of being upgraded as one progresses throughout the game.

Additionally, it appears as if The Division 2 won't be featuring any of the exotic weapons found in the original game, with Ubisoft Massive choosing to make each of them brand new for the followup. That said, though, there are going to be some pieces of weaponry that will look similar in design to certain exotics from the first Division.

On top of all this, The Division 2's new talent system will feature the three categories of active talent, characteristic talent, and holstered talent. Active talent will be based in gameplay and include aspects like headshots, bleeding, and more. Characteristic talent is going to be related to weapon handling and behavior, such as stability, long range attributes, etc. Finally, holstered talent is a passive buff that will activate when a weapon isn't being used. It's also worth mentioning that all high end weapons will have one talent in each category.

Taking all of this into consideration, it sounds as if Ubisoft Massive is taking a lot of what it's learned from The Division and applying it to The Division 2. So, hopefully the studio will adhere to its other plans, such as releasing new DLC faster than the first game. That said, though, we will simply have to wait and see.

Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is set to release on March 15, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
