The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is a story-driven narrative horror experience. Made by horror developers Supermassive Games, players will need to make quick decisions in order to survive the night in the murder hotel. One of the main things everyone wants to know is how to save everyone, and it can be especially difficult to figure this out without some help. In order to save Charlie, the older director character in The Devil in Me, players will need to save him from a furnace of incinerator room that the killer has locked him in.
Charlie and the Burn Factory
Charlie falls through the floor, separating him from Jamie. He ends up caught in a basement that looks like it's part torture chamber, part jail, and all terrifying. In this creepy horror hotel, players need to make two quick decisions, and only one combination of the choices will save Charlie's life so he can rise from the ashes.
First Quick Time Event
Charlie has fallen a long way down from The Devil in Me's bar area where he needed cash to buy some cigarettes, but here is the pack, just waiting for him to grab one. The door will shut on him and he will notice gas coming in from some pipes set into the walls. As the room starts to fill, the killer will show up in the window for a moment before something begins to rise from the floor. It's another creepy mannequin, this one looking a lot like Charlie covered in burns, and it's holding a lighter. The moment the light goes off, the whole room fills with flames, giving Charlie a choice to make.
In classic The Dark Pictures fashion, Charlie will have just a few seconds to decide whether he is going to try to barge down the door or he is going to try and pry up the gate. If players choose the grate option, there is a chance that Charlie can survive. If they choose the door on the first go, Charlie will die no matter what the second choice they make is.
The correct decision is to the left side of the screen, and it says "lift grate."
The Second Quick Time Event
Now that Charlie has pulled on the grate in this survival horror game, he'll get it part of the way up before he gives up. Then players will have yet another choice to make: leave the grate and try the door or keep prying the grate up. If players choose to try the door, which is the choice on the right of the screen, Charlie will die in a fiery blaze. If players choose the grate again the second time, Charlie will live.
So, in order to save Charlie, the choices are:
- Grate, which is the choice on the left.
- Grate again, which will be on the left again.
