While The Day Before doesn't have a release date set just yet, fans have some idea what to expect, thanks to the trailers released so far. The survival MMO will be releasing for PC at some point in 2021, and it looks to be inspired by the likes of The Division and The Last of Us games. Players will be able to work with each other, or against, to survive in a post-pandemic America. While there is still relatively little known about The Day Beforeits trailers have given some insight.

The Day Before has already earned quite a following, which can only be good news for the developer, Fntastic. This is the first game from this studio, and for an independent studio such as Fntastic, all the hype could lead to great support on day one when it launches. In addition to the human on human encounters, players will be fighting hordes of zombies as well as shown in the footage released so far. The trailers shown so far have given away just enough to help players understand what kind of game it is, without revealing everything.

Announcement Trailer 4K

The first trailer for The Day Before shows off some of the key mechanics and features of the game. The player is first shown in a vehicle, before exiting it and wandering the streets of a ruined American city. Throughout the trailer, the player shows off the ruined streets of the city, inventory management, and an encounter with some human enemies. Later during the reveal trailer, hordes of zombies are shown chasing the player before it ends with the character coming face to face with one of the undead creatures. After the announcement trailer, some started comparing The Day Before to The Last of Us and The Division games.

Countryside

This trailer shows off some more of The Day Before's open world. Viewers get a good look at some rural sections of the map, while the player character traverses the area in a jeep. In addition to highlighting some non-urban environments, gamers get another brief look at The Day Before's zombies. This footage showcases some familiar elements from the reveal trailer as well, such as the protagonist searching for supplies in abandoned houses while evading a horde of zombies.

Various The Day Before Short Videos

In addition to the full-length gameplay trailers that have been released, Fntastic has released several short videos for the game. While on the surface they don't seem to offer much, it could be a way for the developer to show off various aspects of the various systems that run The Day Before.

The Room trailer is a short video that seems designed to show off the lighting of The Day Before. A character and a zombie are standing motionless, while the lightning in the room changes, and highlights the visual assets in different lights.

This trailer shows off the offroad vehicle gameplay of The Day BeforeWhile this is also a short video, it clearly shows the difficulty with which the character is driving through the mud. Suitably, the driving mechanics on show here make it seem like it won't be too easy for players to navigate offroad terrain.

The Air Dancer video is a fun snippet of footage that shows an inflatable tube man blowing around. The video not only shows off Fntastic's fun side, but the animation of the inflatable tube man also comes across as quite realistic.

The Lakeside Campfire video might be 30 minutes long, but it doesn't show viewers anything new about The Day Before. Instead, this video seems to be Fntastic's version of the popular fireplace videos. The developer so far has released a mix of gameplay videos for The Day Before and short videos like this. While these short teaser videos don't show much of the game itself, they could potentially add some personality to the developer.

The Day Before doesn't have a release date set just yet. While it was originally announced as a PC game, Fntastic has been considering a console version of the game. Whether this happens or not and if it will impact the game's development pipeline is unknown. The Day Before already has a large following and Fntastic is undoubtedly hoping that this translates to large players numbers when the game finally launches.

The Day Before is currently in development and set for release on PC in 2021.
