Supermassive Games is set to release the second installment in its Dark Pictures anthology series, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope, on Friday, October 30, just in time for Halloween. Those that played The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan should have a pretty good idea of how long it will take to beat The Dark Pictures: Little Hope. On average, it will likely take most players somewhere between 4-5 hours to complete an initial playthrough. Since Dark Pictures: Little Hope is essentially an interactive movie, playtimes between players should be mostly consistent, though there are some things that could make the game end quicker or take longer.
For instance, player choice can get Dark Pictures: Little Hope characters killed, which in turn means less scenes later in the game. Needless to say, co-op and multiplayer can go a long way in boosting a game's replay value, and so those modes combined with the multiple endings should result in completionists getting somewhere between 10 to 15 hours out of the game.
While some players may be turned off by such a short game, it is consistent with this style of game, and this way, it doesn't overstay its welcome. It should also be noted that, like Man of Medan, The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is a budget release, available for just $29.99, and so horror fans should still be able to get their money's worth if they decide to take the plunge.
