As far as high-octane trailers go, Ubisoft’s brand new cinematic trailer for The Crew 2 certainly stands up to the competition. During today’s Ubisoft Press Conference for E3 2017, Ubisoft brought forth a wild and fast-paced trailer showing an increased array motorsport options for The Crew 2, and scenes with fleets of racers whipping by local wildlife, turning through city streets, and ripping through some dessert scenery. In short, The Crew 2 certainly looks good – but it will have to do more than that to stand up to stiff competition like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gran Turismo.
Players will race through a variety of polished locations that range from the streets of San Francisco and New York, to forging their own path offroad “through the striking beauty of nature”. The cinematic trailer for The Crew 2 goes beyond just showing cars, trucks, and bikes, now revealing that players will rip through the sky with planes and helicopters as well. We have to admit the smoke trails left by planes as they twist and turn their way through city streets does have a certain charm to it, and it’ll undoubtedly be a great addition to gameplay.
Gamers can take a look at the cinematic trailer for The Crew 2 below:
Beyond planes, the cinematic trailer reveals that players will also be able to hop into boats to take their race to the sea, allowing for true motorsports marathons to take place. Ubisoft has confirmed locations ranging from The Rocky Mountains to the Mississippi River, and the storyline will revolve around a racer who gets to join one of four different motorsports families.
Gamers can register for the official The Crew 2 beta now, where they will get an early chance to be among the first racers ever to take to either sky or sea in The Crew 2. There’s currently no word on whether the original online requirements from the first title will remain, but since this is an Ubisoft title, such a move seems quite likely.
