The superhero satire series The Boys has rarely held back on the sort of insanity that is depicted in the show. But The Boys season 3 might just top everything that fans have seen thus far as the show's creator Eric Kripke announced an episode centered around the infamous "Herogasm" from the comic books.

Fans of the comics will understand how wild this episode could get while those who have not read the source material should prepare themselves for some really weird stuff. In the comics, 'Herogasm' is an event in which all of the Vought superheroes are given the opportunity to blow off some steam with a giant superhero orgy on a private island.

Kripke has talked about wanting to bring the bizarre and graphic storyline to The Boys series and it looks like he's getting his wish. Kripke took to Twitter announcing, "From day one everyone dared me to make this episode. CHALLENGE MET MOTHERF******." He also added a photo of the script cover page that shows the episode will be called Herogasm, will be written by Jessica Chou, and will apparently serve as the sixth episode in season 3.

The Boys season 3 is set to begin filming in February 2021 through August 2021 with no release date announced as of yet. The series has become one of the most talked-about shows on television largely due to its hilariously dark take on the ever-popular superhero genre and its incredibly graphic content. While it would seem like there is hardly anything more the show could do that is more shocking than what audiences have seen thus far, the Herogasm storyline will certainly test that theory.

While the show does an excellent job of capturing the spirit of the comic book, it has also taken some huge departures from the source material, both in terms of characters and storylines. Many fans have been hoping the series would start bringing in more elements from the comics and this announcement will surely please many of them. There is always the possibility that such crazy storylines will eventually prove too much for viewers, but so far the show has been quite effective at balancing the craziness with compelling stories and characters.

The Boys season one and two are now available on Prime Video.
