For a series dedicated to superheroes, one would think the list of honorable characters would be overflowing with contenders, however, finding candidates from either side of The Boys' battles proves itself to be a tough task. Luckily, there are a handful of personalities that show the utmost virtue, whereas others have seen the truth and rehabilitated their corrupt ways.

Some may be offended that Hugie Campbell Jr. didn't make the cut, but the influence that V24 has had on his personality so far can only be evident of terrible things to come. That being said, anyone who is anti-Homelander is a good guy in most fans' books, but here are the best that The Boys has to offer.

Content in this article refers to specific events from Season 3 of The Boys.

9 Queen Maeve: The Brave

The Boys Queen Maeve

Miss Maeve has not exactly led the most honorable life with her questionable past, however, so much of her misconduct is because of Homelander's negative influence and brutal threats. As deplorable as Queen Maeve's history may be, she has done all she can to turn over a new leaf and is one of the first Supes courageous enough to stand up to Homelander, even going so far as to threaten him.

The infamous airplane footage incriminates both Maeve and Homelander, and yet the dark-haired vixen is willing to put her reputation on the line (which is a huge deal for these egocentric Supes) to expose Homelander for the psychopath he is. Even when the tyrant calls her bluff, Maeve does not shy away from his bully tactics and refuses to be intimidated.

8 Kimiko: The Reformed

This femme-fatal would rank higher if it weren't for her insane bloodlust, which appears to be uncontrollable once it takes root. Kimiko Miyashiro is an assassinating machine, capable of murdering a swarm of assailants with the most random techniques imaginable, but it becomes evident that she does not enjoy killing as much as viewers are first led to believe.

Kimiko has put her life on the line more than once to save her allies (particularly Frenchie), but she does not blindly follow Butcher's orders for the sake of loyalty. When the Boys' moral code becomes questionable, the "Feral pixie dream girl" starts to break away from the pack, unwilling to murder innocents any longer.

7 Judy: The Ultimate Aunt

The Boys Billy Butcher's Aunt Judy

Not much is known about Billy Butcher's aunt besides the fact that she granted him temporary asylum from Vought International, and has been taking care of Billy's dog, Terror, which is quite noble in itself. Judy Atkinson then goes the extra mile by allowing her unlawful nephew to camp out in her home, knowing full well that his mere presence is endangering her life.

Unsurprisingly, Butcher practically leads Black Noir to Judy's place, and apparently the only way to get out of this situation is to destroy the poor woman's home. Instead of enjoying her retirement in peace, Judy sacrifices everything for the sake of her nephew who, let's be honest, is not the most likable bloke around; but for the sake of protecting her family, it's all worth it!

6 Frenchie: The Loyal

The Boys Season 3 Frenchie

A hired killer is not the ideal definition of an honorable character, however, the world is not black and white, and Frenchie falls quite elegantly into that grey area. Frenchie has done his best to get out of Cherie's grasp to live a life with significantly less bloodshed; unless he is carrying out orders for his new boss, that is!

While Butcher and the Boys are not exactly known for avoiding conflict, Frenchie shows the utmost loyalty to his peers and only takes another life if it means protecting innocent lives. Despite being a ladies' man of note, Frenchie always shows the utmost respect for his female companions, all of whom he treasures and protects even after they have parted ways.

5 Supersonic: The Shield

The Boys Season 3 Supersonic aka Drummer Boy

The former Drummer Boy gives off a much different vibe than the other Seven, exuding a sincere and humble nature akin to that of his childhood friend, Starlight. He shows no hostility towards Hughie, even though he is likely the only thing prohibiting Alex and Annie from rekindling their romance (and there's clearly still a spark between these two!), and opts to still join the Seven, knowing full well that he would be putting his life on the line.

When looking at Supersonic's boy-band past, it is evident that entering the spotlight has always intrigued him, but the strong impression is given that this sweet Supe only did what he could to protect Starlight. After being given every opportunity to walk away, Alex further endangers himself by choosing to join in the efforts to hinder Homelander, ultimately costing him his life in the end.

4 Grace Mallory: The Founder

The Boys Grace Mallory Season 2

Another Boys character with a highly-checkered past is Grace, who was unfortunately involved in some dodgy drug-smuggling schemes in her youth while working for Vought International. It took a massacre for her to finally see the truth, but by then, there was no stopping the former Deputy Director of the CIA from spending the rest of her days seeking vengeance.

Grace Mallory was the founder of The Boys, which she established to expose the Supes' deplorable acts and Vought's involvement to the world. She recruited Billy Butcher after revealing the truth about Becca to him and sacrificed everything to raise a young boy of no relation, putting a lethal target on her head in the process.

3 Mother's Milk: In Loving Memory

the boys marvin mother's milk

Marvin T Milk has dedicated his life to finish what his father started by dismantling Vought International while seeking vengeance for his family's death by taking Soldier Boy out of commission. A family man at heart, MM despises each moment he is away from his wife and daughter but knows they will never truly be safe until his mission is complete.

When Marvin found a brief reprieve from The Boys, he worked with troubled youth and became a role model of sorts within his community. He consistently attempts to keep Billy's ethics in check but refuses to blindly follow his friend when V24 comes into the equation. MM is not afraid to stand up to his closest companions, and would rather work alone than have his moral code compromised.

2 Nathan Franklin: The Best Brother

The Boys Nathan Franklin, A-Train's Brother

Unless trapped in an excruciating discussion with Blue Hawk, it would be hard to find anyone capable of making a negative comment about this respectable man. Not only is Nathan a dedicated coach to his brother, A-Train, but he is also an upstanding member of his community and an advocate for equal rights.

Nathan stands by his brother's side, helping A-Train through his drug addiction by refusing to allow the problem to continue unacknowledged, and welcomes the troubled man back into his life with open arms and no resentments. He goes on to urge his brother to use his celebrity status for the greater good, although, sadly, chaos ensues instead. Nathan is so severely injured in Season 3 episode 5 because he probably used his own body as a shield to protect those around him, but standing no chance against a Supe.

1 Starlight: The True Hero

The Boys Starlight

Arguably the only high-profiled Supe with a clean record is Starlight, the newest member of The Seven who received an alarming wake-up call upon meeting her childhood heroes. Annie January is courageous enough to call the Deep out for his deplorable actions in Season 1, regardless of how terrified she is of the potential backlash. She does what she can to de-sexualize her costume as much as possible, which shows that Starlight values being a respectable role model over receiving popularity points from the masses.

Annie has made it her mission to ensure that Homelander's reign of tyranny comes to an end and endures so much senseless abuse in the process, all to collect invaluable information to contribute to Homelander's downfall. Instead of fleeing at the first chance, Starlight risks her life by maintaining a connection to the psychotic Supe, even pretending to date him (ew!), and is possibly the last shot at salvation that the Seven have left.
