It appears Vought International will not be taking Annie January's accusations lying down. After the supe protagonist formerly known as Starlight from The Boys revealed some of Vought's very worst secrets on top of announcing that she was quitting the Seven, Vought gave their own spin on the story to discredit her allegations.

Among January's allegations in The Boys, she revealed the supes don't really care about people as much as they care about their public image. She also revealed Homelander is the worst of them, that previous Vought icon Soldier Boy is alive, and that Vought would try to make their own spin on all the chaos currently going down. In a recent press release, Vought gave their own version of events, discrediting January's allegations while urging the public to continue their faith in them as a company.

In their press release, Vought said, "The recent accusations made by Annie January, codename Starlight, on a recent social media live stream in now ay reflect Vought International as a whole." Vought later added that Starlight's actions were caused by a bad breakup with Homelander. "January is a glory hound who became hysterical with rage after Homelander ended their relationship. Sadly her crazed jealousy has boiled over into insurrectionist territory and has made a reconciliation impossible. We ultimately regret making January a member of the Seven." Strangely enough, they don't acknowledge what January said about Soldier Boy's existence, fueling speculation that Homelander afraid of him.

The real question is, did Homelander really write this? Homelander ran away following his fight with Soldier Boy, Bill Butcher, and Hughie Campbell, so who knows if he's back at Vought following a fight he came within seconds of losing? Vought is already dealing with enough of a PR crisis as it is with some of Homelander's actions. Now they have to deal with the return of their first mascot, Soldier Boy, who society had presumed to be dead. If there's more evidence of him being alive, then that's a PR hurricane on top of what they're dealing with as it is.

Snapping back to reality, this is yet another example where The Boys makes viewers feel like they aren't just watching a show but rather entering an alternate universe where they would see what would happen if superheroes actually existed in society and were owned by a company. Much like any high-profile company does in the real world, they would vigorously defend themselves if a crisis like this came about while also trying their best not to acknowledge their worst allegation if they don't have to.

This also should hype up viewers for what's to come because the crap has really hit the fan following the release of Herogasm. Homelander just had his first fair fight as a supe, Soldier Boy's return is now becoming public, The Boys themselves are split now that Billy and Hughie are becoming more reliant on V-24, and Starlight is fed up with all of what's been on her plate. There's nothing to suggest the last two episodes of the third season won't deal with the ramifications of what's happened thus far, and it feels as though it could all get a lot worse from here.

The Boys season 3 can be streamed on Amazon Prime.
