The Batman is approaching its big theatrical release date, which means fans are able to purchase tickets for the highly anticipated film very soon. According to Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves, tickets will officially go on sale beginning February 10.

With the Omicron variant still running rampant, The Batman fans were worried that the pandemic would once again push back the long-awaited DC film. Fortunately, Warner Bros. and DC are moving full stream ahead with The Batman's March theatrical release, as made clear with the announcement of tickets going on sale early.

Warner Bros. took to social media to make the big announcement, giving fans almost an entire month to secure their tickets to Reeves' take on the caped crusader. "He can't stop what's coming," the original tweet reads. "Get tickets for #TheBatman starting February 10, only in theaters March 4." It's difficult to tell how well The Batman will do at the box office, especially during this pandemic era when plenty of moviegoers still uncertain about returning to movie theaters. However, after seeing what Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home was able to accomplish financially and considering all the hype surrounding this new version of The Batman, it's hard to imagine the film not being a success.

Many have to take into consideration that the film's longer runtime (which sits at a whopping 175 minutes) will prevent more showings from being screened each day. That said, other Batman films like The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice all prove that a longer runtime doesn't necessarily mean it will make less at the box office. With fans craving a longer exploration of Batman, it seems the upcoming film will be just fine.

Reeves' The Batman will focus heavily on a noir-driven, detective story as the film will take place in Bruce Wayne's second year of fighting crime, as he is forced to team up with certain allies to take down a new criminal known as the Riddler, who has ties to Batman's past. Reeves recently spoke to Esquire about how he told Warner Bros. he wanted to take Batman and the story to a much more personal level.

The Batman will be the first installment in a planned trilogy. Two other spin-off series are also in the works, one focusing on the Penguin and the other on the GCPD. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard as district attorney Gil Colson.

The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022, and will be available to stream on HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical release.
