Barry Keoghan was arrested last weekend by authorities in North Dublin for causing a disturbance while being intoxicated in public. In his previous two outings, the 29-year-old actor has been a staple in the superhero universe, appearing as Druig in Marvel's Eternals and the iconic Joker in Matt Reeves's The Batman.

Keoghan was in the Clongriffin area of Dublin when a resident called the authorities regarding a noise complaint before 7 am, indicating that The Batman star was outside their window. When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Keoghan in a state of intoxication and arrested him. Authorities took the actor to Coolock Garda Station and issued him a penalty for his actions while intoxicated in public. Neither Keoghan nor the studios he has worked with have commented on the situation.

A spokesperson from the Irish police force confirmed the arrest within a comment to TheWrap, stating, "Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s for a public order incident that occurred in Clongriffin, at approximately 6:45 am, Sunday 10th April 2022. He was later released without charge and issued with a Fixed Charge Notice." Keoghan is yet another young actor beneath the umbrella of Warner Bros. that has been arrested.

Ezra Miller, star of The Flash and the newly released film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, has recently been in headlines for actions that have hindered the actor's stance in Hollywood. In March, authorities arrested the young actor for disorderly conduct and harassment, followed by a temporary restraining order. While in Hilo, Hawaii, Miller's actions shook things up within Warner Bros., causing the studio to pause upcoming projects starring the embattled actor. It's still unclear what Keoghan's intoxicated actions were.

The response following Miller's arrest from Warner Bros. has been relatively swift because of the platform the young actor stands on. The Flash puts Miller center stage as a leading face behind the DC universe's attempt to revamp its superhero content, but with the merger now in place, it's unclear what the newly established Warner Bros. Discovery will do with The Flash and Miller's position within the cinematic universe. Keoghan's presence within Warner Bros. isn't as significant, seeing as how Matt Reeves relegated his appearance as the Joker to a deleted scene within The Batman, but the picture it paints for the studio is still an undesired one. It'll be interesting to see what actions if any, Warner Bros. decides to take.

Keoghan's acting notoriety has grown over the last few years, with the actor delivering tremendous performances in films that preceded his current superhero endeavors. The young actor has appeared in Dunkirk, The Green Knight, and The Killing of a Sacred Deer, where his talent shines within each moment.

The Batman is currently available to stream on HBO Max.
