Great news this season for fans of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime as the third season of the TV anime was announced with a teaser visual at an advanced screening of the franchise's upcoming film, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond, which is set to hit Japanese theatres on November 25, with a worldwide release sometime early 2023 – courtesy of Crunchyroll.
The teaser visual revealed features the Holy Knight Hinata Sakaguchi confronting Rimuru in battle. While the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is official, no news regarding broadcast dates, cast, or staff has been revealed as yet.
The news of the third season of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime was first revealed at an advanced screening of the upcoming Scarlet Bond film, which was held on November 9 at the Marunouchi Piccadilly in Tokyo.
The event had Rimuru voice actor Miho Okasaki (Seitokai Yakuindomo: The Movie 2) on stage alongside Japanese actress Riko Fukumoto and the voice behind the Great Sage in That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime, Megumi Toyoguchi (Revy, Black Lagoon).
Based on the light novels written by Fuse with illustrations by Mitz Vah, the That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime anime made its debut in October 2018, running for 24 episodes with animation production by Eight Bit. It was simulcast by Crunchyroll, with an English dub produced by Funimation.
The second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime ran as a split-cour from January 2021, with the second half arriving in July 2021 after being delayed from October 2020 and April 2021 respectively due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both parts of the second season ran for twelve episodes each, bringing the series' total to 48 episodes overall. A twelve-episode spin-off series titled "The Slime Diaries" began airing in April 2021 after being delayed from January 2021.
The upcoming film, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond was announced at the airing of the last episode of the second season, and will be picking up on events from after the end of the second season. It is set to premiere on November 25, with worldwide release to follow in early 2023. No information regarding the release date of season 3 of That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime has been released.
