Tfue was once considered one of the best Fortnite players during his heyday, which made his sudden departure from the game's competitive scene all the more shocking. As a streamer who owes much of his fame to his skill at that game, fans were racking their brains trying to think of why he might have moved on to other games. Finally, Tfue has opened up on this matter, and the answer is actually quite simple.
For those that aren't familiar with the name, Tfue is a popular streamer that got his big break while playing Fortnite thanks to his incredible skill at the title. After several years of playing the game, he eventually left it altogether, moving on to other battle royale titles like Call of Duty: Warzone and Fall Guys.
In a recent podcast interview with Brand Risk, Tfue elaborates further on the reason for his quitting Fortnite. His answer is fairly simple, and shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, yet it has still caught some fans off guard.
In the podcast, Tfue was asked why he quit playing Fortnite. Essentially, he claimed that after two years of playing the game, he simply got burnt out. He wasn't enjoying it in the same way that he used to two years ago, and found himself only playing it so he could maintain views and popularity. Likely figuring that much of his fanbase would remain loyal even if he switched games, Tfue decided to leave Fortnite behind once and for all.
This did seem to be what happened, as Tfue's streaming career is still going strong. It's also worth noting that he has been vocal about his issues with the game in the past, one time even agreeing with a fan that Fortnite is trash. It seems to boil down to a lack of responsiveness from developers and a fundamental issue with the player base that dominates the game now as compared to when it first released. During this confession, he also does mention feeling burnt out on the game, saying he usually can only stick to one game for two to three years max.
At this point, Tfue has doubled down on his intention to not return to Fortnite, so fans shouldn't expect to see him back at the game any time soon. It's always possible that a great update like Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 will draw him back into his old stomping grounds, but it seems he's much happier with the games he's playing currently.
