With so many people still being forced to spend the majority of their days at home, people are turning to games for entertainment. Games like The Sims are incredibly easy to sink time into, and with so many design elements it's also a great game to practice creative skills. One thing that fans love to do is create their own version of favorite media in The Sims, and a horror fan is going viral for their recreation of a very famous house from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Reddit user "iamjimothy" posted a gallery of photos from his Sims creation of the very famous Sawyer house in 1974's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Several scenes from the film are recognizable in his interpretation of the house. There are screenshots of the dining room from one of the film's most infamous scenes, the door that Leatherface slams when audiences first see him, the exterior of the house, among a few other great shots.

This isn't the first time fans have gone viral for recreating media in games like The Sims or Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It's something people have done for a long time, but since the beginning of the pandemic, with many being confined to their homes and games as a main form of entertainment, it's something that's showing up more and more. One person even created the entirety of Hamilton's first act using their Animal Crossing characters. Ultimately, it's bringing not only the creator but fans of the games, and the media they're recreating, a lot of joy and entertainment.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was a groundbreaking horror film for its time. It came out in 1974 and was directed by Tobe Hooper. Partly inspired by serial killer Ed Gein, it's said to be a commentary on the meat industry. The film's title is slightly self-explanatory. A group of young people get lost in Texas and fall into the hands of a killer family called the Sawyers. One member of the family, deemed Leatherface, seems to be the prime murderer of the family, and his weapon of choice is a chainsaw.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise has had many installments, with multiple sequels to the original as well as a remake in 2003. Most of these weren't received too well, critically or by audiences, but fans were excited when it was revealed that this series was getting a similar treatment to Halloween and Candyman.

A new film in the franchise titled The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is said to be set for release in 2021. It'll be a "spiritual sequel" to the original film, disregarding all other sequels, and is set 47 years later with a focus on "old man Leatherface."

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
