Mostly, it is extremely accessible, being adored even by those who would not touch other video games with a ten-foot pole. Fortnite has been an unstoppable beast since the battle royale mode came out. Even if it dethroned Tetris as the best selling game ever made, the older puzzle game still has plenty of advantages over Fortnite. Will people still be playing Epic's multiplayer shooter thirty years from now? They very well may be, but until then Tetris's longevity and ubiquity will always be a plus no other game has.

What good is a joke if people don't understand it? It's like playing a perfect game of Tetris with a program that does not understand the lines should disappear once they are completed. Nothing feels worse than having the perfect punchline, only to have nobody in the room chuckle. It is not because the joke is not funny; it is because no one is a Tetris fan. Just know there is a room or community where the jest would have absolutely killed.

For those who do not know what a T-spin is, it is the technique of letting a T-piece land and then rotating it before it is fully set in order to fit it into seemingly impossible spaces. It is absolutely a pro move and not everyone is bold enough to try it. Some Tetris editions do not even have it available as a move. If you are ever playing online and see someone utilizing this move without breaking a sweat, you are in for a rough bout.
5 The Only Battle Royale That Matters
People called The Clash "the only band that matters". Many feel that Tetris 99 is the only battle royale that matters. Before its release, people may have wondered just how Tetris could fit into the multiplayer format using so many players. Upon release, all worries were assuaged and Tetris 99 turned out to be a great addition to the Tetris legacy. It is just a shame it still only available on the Nintendo Switch.

Sometimes you are doing so good in a multiplayer game, everybody decides to gang up on you to dethrone the king. Do not be upset at this even if you lose. The fact everybody decided to team up against you should be compliment enough.
You got them scared and this should be even more satisfying than winning. It's like the movie Rocky. Even though Rocky Balboa lost his first fight against Apollo Creed, he still won a personal victory by winning his opponent's respect.
3 The Hidden Weapon
These days people might even roll their eyes at new genres entering the battle royale space. It is so easy to seem like a cheap cash-in. Tetris 99 came prepared, however, and is an incredibly beloved title. It works drastically different than the other battle royale games mentioned in the picture by the nature of the genre. It killing Apex Legends might be a bit dramatic, but it certainly stands on its own two feet and does not feel like a gimmick.
2 You Cannot Prove To Us It Is Not How It Was Done
If you play Tetris enough, you start seeing the game everywhere. It's like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater fans seeing combo lines every time they walk down the street or Metal Gear fans seeing melodramatic philosophical tangents in every conversation. You cannot convince Tetris fans that the above picture is not how the periodic table of elements was created. One argument against it, however, is the bottom lines not disappearing.
