To build up the E3 hype, Sony has decided to start a countdown to the big event this week. Each day, the company will make some announcement that isn't quite big enough to warrant time during the main Sony press conference five days from now. To kick things off, Sony revealed a Tetris Effect trailer that brings a modern VR spin on the classic puzzle game.

Tetris Effect is a new game coming to PS4 this fall from the creators of Rez Infinite, one of the most popular VR games to date. The trailer is mostly cinematic, so we don't know how the gameplay is going to look or feel, but it has been confirmed that the game will be playable on PS4 with or without VR.

It sounds like the game will include multiple classic play modes, in addition to new modes and options. No price details were released, so it will be interesting to see if this is a full $60 experience, or a smaller, more affordable arcade game.

As more details about the game are announced, we'll be sure to update this post. Check back throughout the week for more E3 news from Sony and the rest of the major publishers and developers.
