Brooklyn Nine-Nine has finally reached its end on NBC after 8 wonderful seasons and some fans may be having a bit of a rough time accepting that their favorite show is over. But those fans aren't alone in that sentiment, at least not according to series star Terry Crews. It seems as though he wasn't exactly ready to accept the conclusion of a show that's been such a big part of his life for almost a full decade, and that's honestly pretty relatable.

The series has gone through lots of uncertainty over the years, with such hiccups as a brief cancelation (that was quickly and rightly corrected) and a complete rewrite of season 8 in the wake of rising police brutality across the U.S. So perhaps as a result of all that, Crews found himself hesitant to accept when Brooklyn Nine-Nine managed to not only keep going in spite of all the setbacks, but to end things on its own terms with a proper farewell season

During interviews about the season finale of the surprisingly versatile America's Got Talent (on which he serves as its current host), Crews spoke to the press about his thoughts on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's then-upcoming finale, and he didn't hold back. "Oh, my goodness, you're talking about, you know, eight years of my life," Crews said, opening up about his emotional connection to the show. "And truly every cast member and every crew member on that show is family. And this is it. It's so wild. Because, you know, you never know when it's gonna end. You just know it will. And it's funny because I've been in denial for so long. Because we stopped filming a while back, but now they've been showing episodes, but the realization is just starting to hit me coming tomorrow night. That's pretty much it. And I'm just like... Believe you me, I'm feeling all kind of ways right now. I feel a lot of emotions."

Even after giving his own emotional goodbye to the series, it seems it still took a while to sink in. It makes sense that Crews would react in such a way to the end of a show that's been part of his life for so long. After so much uncertainty regarding Brooklyn Nine-Nine's fate over the years, it may have felt like it could withstand anything and that it would simply keep going. After all, if there's one show that deserves to continue after all it's been through, it's... well it's probably Better Off Ted, to be honest. But Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a close second.

Crews himself has been through a lot in his life as well, so it's no surprise that he connected so much with this show's positive impact. From growing up in an abusive household to suffering through sexual assault in his career, someone like the surprisingly and delightfully nerdy Crews deserves all the happiness he can find. His public advocacy for women's rights and against sexism also proves that he's willing to go out on a limb for others, and if that doesn't perfectly encapsulate the kindness of this NFL-player-turned-acting star, then it should at least prove why he deserves a happy ending like Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

The series saw some bumps along the way, but it was its own high point the whole 8 years. Crews is only one part of the reason Brooklyn Nine-Nine charmed audiences consistently that whole time, but he's a big reason it will be remembered for decades to come and then some. Terry loves yogurt, and Terry loves the Nine-Nine.
