The Zoologist is an NPC that was just added to Terraria in its massive 1.4 update, also known as Journey's End, and she has a variety of new items for players to purchase. However, before fans are able to browse her wares they will need to get her to spawn, and that will requires the fulfillment of two specific criteria. Indeed, detailing these criteria is the exact purpose of this guide, and it will also provide a list of the items that Terraria's Zoologist has for sale.

To start, players that want to get the Zoologist in Terraria need to make sure that they have an empty house, and they need to make some progress on their Bestiary. For the uninitiated, the Bestiary was also introduced in Terraria 1.4, and players can fill it with information about the game's various creatures by using a weapon to kill them. For Terraria's Zoologist to appear, fans will need to have 52 entries in their Bestiary, and indeed that should be relatively easy to achieve.

Once a player has been visited by the Zoologist in Terraria, they will then be able to begin buying things from her. That said, her entire inventory is not available at all times, and some items will only appear after certain requirements have been met. To that end, here is a list of the items that the Zoologist can sell in Re-Logic's sandbox game with their prices and details on their availability noted:

Once final point to cover about the Zoologist in Terraria 1.4 is that her preferred biome is the Forest and her favorite neighbors are the Golfer and Witch Doctor. On the flip side, she does not like to live in the Desert and prefers to keep her distance from the Angler and Arms Dealer. These are important details to know because they impact the Zoologist's overall Happiness, and this will ultimately determine if she is willing to sell players Forest Pylons.

In summary, fans that want a visit from the Zoologist should simply setup an empty house and start working on filling their Bestiaries. While any critters will suffice for completing this second objective, players that are feeling especially bold may want to take on the new bosses in Terraria 1.4 in order to add them to their Bestiary.
