There is a pet summoning item in Terraria's 1.4.4 update that can be used to call forth a Junimo. Fans of the acclaimed life simulation game Stardew Valley will be quite familiar with these forest spirits and may be excited to have one as a companion. Fortunately for these players, it is quite easy to get a Junimo pet in Terraria, and this guide details exactly how that is done.

Terraria: How to Get Junimo Pet

In order to have a Junimo pet, players must obtain a Stardrop, the aforementioned pet summoning item. The first step toward earning this item is to fish up a Joja Cola, a consumable item that has a 12.5% chance of being caught instead of a piece of junk. Terraria players that are trying to catch Joja Cola, which also appears in Stardew Valley, are thus advised to fish with a low Fishing Power in order to maximize their chances of reeling in junk.

Once a fan has finally caught a Joja Cola, they should put it in their hands and interact with the Dryad. For full clarity, this Terraria NPC will appear in an empty house once the Brain of Cthulhu, Eater of Worlds, Eye of Cthulhu, Lepus, or Skeletron have been dispatched, and fans should select her Purify option. This action will cause a star-shaped portal to appear in the vicinity of the Dryad, and a Junimo will jump out of it before dropping the Stardrop summoning item.

To note, the Junimo pet is not the only Stardew Valley reference to be found in Terraria's Labor of Love update. Indeed, it is also possible to get a Blue Chicken Egg that summons a Blue Chicken pet, a variant that can appear in Stardew Valley after increasing friendship with Shane. Players that are interested in this item should be on the lookout for the Traveling Merchant, an NPC that randomly appears in town and sells the Blue Chicken Egg for 25 Gold Coins.

After spending time collecting Stardew Valley-inspired pets, players may want to set their sights on some other content contained within the 1.4.4 update. That might mean tracking down the Aether biome in Terraria, which is home to a unique liquid called Shimmer that has some very interesting capabilities. There is also a secret boss to battle in the Labor of Love update, though fans will need to use a special seed in order to find it.

Terraria is available for Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
