Most of the weapons on the list are Hard Mode, Pre-Moonlord weapons that can be used to defeat one of the last bosses in the game. Base-building has been brought to a new level, and there are countless new ways to entertain oneself after defeating the final boss. But to get there, players still need to get the very best gear they can get their hands on.

13 Vampire Knives

Damage – 29 Melee

The Vampire Knives in Terraria are often overlooked, but they can be a game-changer even in the later stages. They are deadly and efficient, dealing massive amounts of damage to enemies while restoring the player's health with each hit. Their unique ability to heal the player makes them indispensable in tough battles, allowing players to stay in the fight for longer.

These knives are lethal in the hands of a skilled player, keeping players alive and thriving in even the most dangerous situations. While their damage may somewhat fall off in the later stages, they are still a valuable tool to help sustain the player against hordes of enemies and some bosses alike.

How To Unlock The Vampire Knives

The Knives can be found in Hardmode after defeating Plantera. Players will first need to acquire a Crimson Key and delve deep into the Dungeons. There, they will need to look for the Crimson Chest. The Vampire Knives are a guaranteed (and only) drop from the chest.

12 Laser Machinegun

Damage – 60 Magic

The Laser Machinegun is an excellent late-game option due to its powerful and rapid-fire capabilities. This ranged weapon fires multiple laser beams that deal significant damage to enemies, making it a very viable gun for boss fights and events such as the invasion of the Pirate Army or Martian Madness.

The machine gun does take a bit to fully wind up, so the player should be cautious, as they are more vulnerable during that time. The weapon's high rate of fire and accuracy also make it a great weapon for taking down fast-moving or aerial enemies.

How To Unlock The Laser Machinegun

The Machinegun can only be unlocked in Hardmode after defeating Golem. The players will first need to encounter the Martian Probe, and after attacking it (not killing), let it go. After that, the Martian Madness event will start. Upon reaching 30% completion of the event, the Martian Saucer, the mini-boss of the event, can spawn. The Machinegun has a 16.66% chance of dropping from the boss.

11 Eye Of Cthulhu

Damage – 115 Melee

This is the second most powerful yo-yo in the game, beaten only by the Terrarian in terms of raw power. Despite the name, it actually is a possible drop from Mothron during the Solar Eclipse event. For those who enjoy the unique playstyle that the yo-yo offers, this is one of the best available options, as it does a whopping 115 damage per tick and can stay in the air indefinitely.

It is a great choice for farming dangerous areas, as one can use it at a relatively safe distance, as well as at unique angles, while continuously damaging the mobs.

How To Unlock The Eye Of Cthulhu

The Eye can be found in Hardmode after defeating Plantera. After the defeat of at least one Mechanical Boss, there is a 5% chance of the Solar Eclipse event happening. During the event, players will need to defeat Mothron, who has a 33% chance of dropping the Eye.

10 Vortex Beater

Damage – 50 Bullets / 70 Rockets

The Vortex Beater is a wonderful machine that unleashes an uncontrollable rain of bullets. It fires a stream of projectiles that can deal massive damage to multiple enemies at once, making it a great option for quickly clearing out large groups of enemies. Additionally, it has a high rate of fire and can be combined with different types of ammunition, including the homing Chlorophyte rounds, which completely mitigates its horrendous accuracy.

It can also be modified with various accessories to further increase its efficiency. Its versatility and damage output make it a favorite for many players, especially in endgame content like fighting for the Moon Lord.

How To Unlock The Vortex Beater

The weapon can only be unlocked in Hardmode after defeating the Lunatic-Cultist. Players will need 18 Vortex Fragments, which are dropped from the Vortex Pillar during the Lunar Events. To craft it, players will need to use the Ancient Manipulator, which is a guaranteed drop from the Lunar Cultist.

9 Stardust Dragon Staff

Damage – 40 Summon

Summoning a massive glowing magic dragon is always a great option. With each activation of the staff, the dragon becomes longer and longer, with each of its parts dealing more damage as it passes through enemies. While it may not be the fastest summon out there, its high damage output still makes it one of the best summons in the game.

One of the best aspects about it is that it can go through walls, damaging enemies behind cover and through buildings. With a proper summoner build, this dragon can take out most bosses in the game, while the player can take it easy behind cover, chugging potions, and honey.

How To Unlock The Stardust Dragon Staff

The Staff can only be unlocked in Hardmode after defeating the Lunatic-Cultist. Players will need 18 Stardust Fragments, which are dropped from the Stardust Pillar during the Lunar Events. To craft it, players will need to use the Ancient Manipulator, which is a guaranteed drop from the Lunar Cultist.

8 Razorblade Typhoon

Damage – 85 Magic

The Razorblade Typhoon is amazing for those who prefer to use magic over muscles. It boasts significant base damage, making it an excellent choice for dealing with multiple enemies simultaneously. What sets it apart from other weapons is the very high speed of projectiles, which easily catch up even to the fastest mobs and bosses.

It is also equipped with homing capabilities, which enables it to track and hit enemies even around corners and through walls. Its low mana cost and fast casting speed make it a popular choice for players who seek to deal damage quickly and efficiently.

How To Unlock The Razorblade Typhoon

The magic weapon can only be unlocked in Hardmode. Players will need to delve underground into the Glowing Mushroom biome and catch a rare Truffle Worm using a variation of the Bug Net. Players will then need to fish in the Ocean using the Truffle Worm, which will spawn the Duke Fishron boss, who has a 20% chance of dropping the Typhoon.

7 Tsunami

Damage – 53 Ranged

Tsunami is one of the best bows in the game, which can be acquired rather early in Hard mode if one is up to the challenge of defeating the Duke Fishron. Shooting multiple arrows at once, it deals devastating damage to an array of enemies from a distance.

When paired with high-damage arrows like Holy Arrows, the damage goes up exponentially, making it a good choice for bosses. Its versatility also makes it a great weapon for both close-range and long-range combat, utilizing the many projectiles in the form of a shotgun.

How To Unlock Tsunami

The magic weapon can only be unlocked in Hardmode. Players will need to delve underground into the Glowing Mushroom biome and catch a rare Truffle Worm using a variation of the Bug Net. Players will then need to fish in the Ocean using the Truffle Worm, which will spawn the boss Duke Fishron, who has a 20% chance of dropping the Tsunami.

6 Phantasm

Damage – 50 Ranged

The Phantasm is widely considered one of the best late-game weapons due to its exceptional damage output and versatility in combat. It has many unique properties that put it ahead of similar bows, such as homing arrows and a chance to not consume arrows.

It can be used to great effect even during the later stages of the game, becoming even more effective with special arrows to boost its damage. With the right equipment and buffs, players can achieve more than an 80% chance of not consuming any arrows when firing, making it a very cost-effective weapon.

How To Unlock Phantasm

The weapon can only be unlocked in Hardmode after defeating the Lunatic-Cultist. Players will need 18 Vortex Fragments, which are dropped from the Vortex Pillar during the Lunar Events. To craft it, players will need to use the Ancient Manipulator, which is a guaranteed drop from the Lunar Cultist.

5 Solar Eruption

Damage – 105 Melee

This is a great summoning option for farming and is especially effective against the Moon Lord for multiple reasons. It has a great range for a melee weapon, piercing through enemies and blocks, damaging everything in its wake. It can dish out devastating damage to various enemies, quickly disposing of bosses with multiple hitboxes, such as The Destroyer.

It is overall a top-tier weapon that offers a powerful combination of range, damage, and utility. With its unique Daybroken debuff, it can light up enemies on fire, increasing the DPS further. It is also a great choice for exploring the underworld, lighting the path toward treasure and adventure.

How To Unlock The Solar Eruption

The weapon can only be unlocked in Hardmode, after defeating the Lunatic-Cultist. Players will need 18 Solar Fragments, which are dropped from the Solar Pillar during the Lunar Events. To craft it, players will need to use the Ancient Manipulator, which is a guaranteed drop from the Lunar Cultist.

4 Terra Blade

Damage – 85 Melee

The Terra Blade has a lot of unique features and powers, rightfully being considered one of the most powerful weapon options by the players. It is capable of dealing very high damage quickly, making it one of the strongest weapons in the game until the Moon Lord is defeated. Its projectiles can pierce multiple enemies, making it useful against crowds of monsters and bosses.

The journey to crafting such a blade might take some players hours, but it is absolutely worth it in the end. It is quite the legendary sword, worthy of its name.

How To Unlock the Terra Blade

The Blade can be crafted in Hardmode, after defeating Plantera. To craft the Terra Blade in Terraria, players will need to create two swords first.

• The True Excalibur by combining an Excalibur (crafted with 12 Hallowed Bars at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil) with 24 Chlorophyte Bars at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil.
• The True Night's Edge by combining a Night's Edge(crafted by combining Blood Butcherer/Light’s Bane, Muramasa, Blade of Grass, and Volcano at a Demon/Crimson Altar) with 20 Souls of Fright, 20 Souls of Might, and 20 Souls of Sight at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil.

Finally, combine the True Excalibur and True Night's Edge at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil to create the powerful Terra Blade.

3 Last Prism

Damage – 100 Magic

The Last Prism is one of the most powerful magic items in the game, allowing players to absolutely shred their enemies with prismatic light beams. As the weapon begins to fire, the beams are spread out in a pattern, but soon enough all the beams converge into one death-laser.

The high DPS does come with a high mana cost, but with a proper build and mana management, players can get incredible value out of the weapon. The mana cost gets drastically higher, once the beams converge, so players should be mindful of when to fire the weapon, and could also try shorter bursts.

How to Unlock the Last Prism

The weapon has a 1/9 chance to drop from the Moon Lord.

2 Terrarian

Damage – 190 Melee

The Terrarian is the most powerful yoyo in the game, and firmly so. With incredible damage, good range, and deadly projectiles, it is an absolute ball of death on the battlefield. And paired with a Yoyo Glove or Bag, the second Terrarian circles around the original one, and acts the same in every other way, including spawning additional projectiles.

Besides having the best stats when it comes to critical chance, speed, knockback, etc, it is also the only yoyo to spawn projectiles. It is a great weapon to have in the arsenal, and most of the game’s challenges become quite trivial with it.

How to Unlock the Terrarian

The weapon has a 2/9 chance to drop from the Moon Lord.

1 Zenith

Damage – 190 (Melee)

The Zenith is one of the most powerful swords in the game, and getting it will require a lot of dedication and effort from the players. Requiring a small army’s worth of swords to craft, the acquisition process is definitely not an easy one, but definitely one that’s worth it.

With incredible damage and absolutely insane range, the weapon feels fantastic to play. Essentially, the sword will reach anywhere a cursor can. Interestingly enough, that still works with different resolutions and multiple screens, and players can hypothetically reach across the entire world, should they see it on their screen.

How to Unlock the Zenith

The Zenith can be crafted in Hardcore, after defeating the Moonlord. Players will need to combine the following weapons, using a Mythril or Orichalcum anvil:
