Terraria's 1.4 update adds a whole slew of content for players to enjoy, and that includes two brand new bosses to find and fight. These new Terraria bosses are Empress of Light and Queen Slime, and while the Journey's End Changelog is quite extensive it does not disclose the location of these enemies. Fortunately, with just a bit of instruction players will be able to spawn the Terraria 1.4 bosses for themselves.

To note, it is indicated that the 1.4 update has also added two new mini bosses to Re-Logic's sandbox game. That said, this guide will focus exclusively on the two full bosses, not the mini bosses, and details on where to find them are as follows:

Where to Find Empress of Light in Terraria 1.4

To spawn Empress of Light in Terraria 1.4 players must simply kill a Prismatic Lacewing butterfly, which can appear in The Hallow surface biome at night after defeating Plantera. For the uninitiated, Plantera is a Hardmode boss that will spawn in the Underground Jungle after The Destroyer, Skeleton Prime, and The Twins have been dispatched, and Empress of Light will appear after eliminating the aforementioned rainbow butterfly.

Where to Find Queen Slime in Terraria 1.4

To spawn Queen Slime in Terraria 1.4 players will be once again visiting The Hallow biome, but this time they will be going underground. While they are exploring this area, fans should be on the lookout for a Gelatin Crystal, which can be used to summon this new Terraria boss. This short video provides a visual reference for the process of spawning Queen Slime and contains the full boss battle:

If a player finds that they are having trouble with either of the 1.4 bosses, they may want to consider crafting Terraria's Zenith sword, which was also added with the Journey's End update. Indeed, Zenith is now the most powerful sword in the game, and obtaining one is quite a task indeed. However, players that put in the effort should certainly find that Zenith is a helpful tool in taking down Empress of Light and Queen Slime in Terraria 1.4.

Terraria is out now on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One, 3DS, and Switch.
