Though there are not a lot of Pokemon competitors out there, Temtem has established itself as one go-to. The MMO monster catching game by developer Crema takes players to the Airborne Archipelago, a world made up of multiple islands. Now the latest patch is adding Cipanku Island to Temtem, as well as multiple other features.

As fans will know, the title utilizes a similar monster system as Pokemon where each creature has a specific type. While exploring the islands of Temtem, players can find types ranging from the elements, like Fire or Wind, to the more abstract, such as Mental or Crystal. Crema reveals that the update  provides roadmap elements like new Temtem and islands.

It turns out that Cipanku Island is one with a slant towards Electric and Digital types. It is the first of the collection that houses Digital type Temtem, which humans create in a laboratory. Not only does this type have its own Traits and Techniques, but it is also unique due to it being weak to itself. Based on the Temtem type chart, players should take these creatures into battle against Mental or Melee types, but avoid Water and Electric. As some might expect, this type is also completely invulnerable to Toxic Temtem too.

Another major feature fans can look forward to is the introduction of Mythical Temtem and Lairs. These dungeons act as a type of raid, where players group up in a team of five to take on the Lair. At the end, each member of the group can make an attempt to capture a special Mythical type. Fortunately, getting around to these Lairs is easier in the update too thanks to teleportation. After finishing up a side quest in Neoedo, tamers can fast-travel around the islands. According to Crema, just make sure to have a team hovering around level 50 before heading over to explore Cipanku.

As an MMO, it is nice to see that the team is adding in some endgame content for fans. With the original PC release over a year ago, many of those tamers will likely have reached the end of what is available in Early Access. Similar to the addition of Kisiwa Island in Temtem, with Cipanku players can hop back in to catch new types and take on Lairs. These dungeons even sound like a decent challenge since the team shares resources which are also needed to access the Mythical battle.

While teleportation is a highly requested feature, some players may be disappointed to hear it comes at a cost. Traveling to hotspots across the world of Temtem has a fee, which could prevent some from using it often. Plus it is hard to say how the endgame in Temtem will compare to Pokemon. Overall though, this sounds like an extensive update from Crema that fans will be jumping back in for.

Temtem is available now on PC and PS5. Ports are in the works for the Switch and Xbox Series X|S.
