For enthusiasts of the new Pokemon-like MMORPG Temtem, catching rare and exciting Temtem and putting them up against challenging opponents seems like the biggest priority. With all the colorful and amazing creatures the world of Temtem has to offer, it seems like a reasonable approach to the game. But still, there's more to becoming a Temtem Champion.

What Temtem players must understand is that every journey is fueled by the almighty dollar (or, in Temtem terms, Pacsun), and in the world of Temtem, this trope certainly holds true. Money in Temtem can really open up the game, as players can use it to buy thing like TemCards, and other supplies to aid in catching more Temtem.

Making the Money

While choosing a starter Temtem is easy, making Pacsun by contrast can be quite challenging. Temtem players will note that they get paid when they defeat various trainers and complete certain missions and events, they'll just as quickly realize that it may not be enough to take them as far as they want to go. While this may be the bread and butter of most Temtem trainers, it will simply not be enough for others.

For anyone looking to make an extra buck in Temtem, a great way to do this is to join the FreeTem! Society. This society is found all over the world in Temtem, but for anyone needing a specific place to look they can make their way to the Canopath or Route 5.

The FreeTem! Society

The goal of the FreeTem! Society is to free as many captive Temtem as possible. If players should find themselves confused as to the ethics of the situation, considering they themselves are usually putting these little creatures into captivity in the first place, they needn't worry; the society doesn't seem too keen on this information.

After Temtem players link up with the FreeTem! Society, the Society will track how many Temtem the player frees, and pay the player accordingly using a sliding scale.

Catch and Release

For some Temtem players, the FreeTem! Society is a total cash cow. Temtem players can now roam the world of Temtem and catch and release as many of the creatures as they desire. Best of all, now they'll get paid for it.

This matches well with following the main canon, as players will find plenty of Temtem along their MMORPG journey that they won't desire to keep, but could make an honest buck from releasing anyway. After releasing more than a few Temtem, players will just need to make their way to a FreeTem! Society to collect their pay.

Quality and Quantity

Not all Temtem are created equal, as many would-be champions have already taken note of. The payout offered by the FreeTem! Society may believe that all Temtem should be free, but will still pay more for the release of some than others.

The payout scales linearly with the equating level and rarity of the Temtem in question. This means that if a Temtem is extremely rare, that the payout will be significantly higher than it would be with a lower-level, more common Temtem.

Weekly Prizes

The FreeTem! Society offers Temtem players prizes on a weekly basis for accomplishing certain feats. If a player should release a certain number of Temtem, then there are things besides cash that the society will reward Temtem players with.

These things include luxuries like DNA Strands that can have a drastic effect on the breeding of certain Temtem, and guarantee the transference of specific stats, traits, or techniques. There are also cosmetic rewards that can change a Temtem player's avatar, as well as Silicon Shards which can be sold for 299 Pacsun each.

Since Temtem is still in early access, the rewards offered by the FreeTem! Society has only really been in its first week. Either way, these are some of the rewards seen that are available to Temtem players:

Free 180 Temtem: Flat Top Hair Cosmeti

Free 200 Temtem: 5x Silcon Shards

Free 200 Temtem: Vigor DNA Strand - Ensures the egg inherits the parent's HP and STA.

Free 215 Temtem: Engineered DNA Strand - Ensures the egg inherits the parent's trait slot.

Free 250 Temtem: Mighty DNA Strand - Ensures the egg inherits the parent's ATK and SPATK.

Free 250 Temtem: Immunity DNA Strand - Ensures the egg inherits the parent's DEF and SPDEF.

Now, any Temtem player hoping to release as many as 200+ Temtem a week will realize this is quite a feat. It is advised that anyone hoping to release this many Temtem make their way to the lower level areas, and mass farm and catch as many Temtem as they can.

This isn't as damning as it sounds, however. There are certain types of rare Temtem that players can try their hand at catching, and all while still making an honest buck through an altruistic pursuit.

Temtem is available now on PC in Early Access. There is currently no release date for the official launch.
