Inspired by the wildly popular Pokemon series, Temtem is an MMORPG that sends players to the Airborne Archipelago to catch special monsters called Temtem and build their own team of fighters. The game is still in its infancy, but it’s already proving very popular with gamers.

While the game is still new and many of the Temtem haven’t been found yet gamers have already compiled an interesting collection of each type. Here are arguably the coolest looking Temtem that have been seen in-game or announced by the developers that you can look forward to when starting out.

12 Neutral: Valash

Valash is an interesting Temtem that looks like a bipedal badger with crystals for claws. It’s technically a hybrid Neutral/Crystal type and by far the best looking Neutral Temtem in the game. The high Speed and Special Attack stats mean it’s also a decent Temtem to have at your party.

To acquire this fearsome badger-like creature for yourself you simply need to progress in the story until you complete the quest Shipwrecked In Tucma! During this quest you’ll receive a level 35 Valash for your team.

11 Fire: Mastione

The Mastione is what would happen if sharks ever developed legs and mastered fire. It has a head resembling a hammerhead shark and fierce fin/blades jutting from its forearms. Evolved from a Mamis, the Mastione is a terrifying fire Temtem with a great attack stat.

To get your own Mastione you need to visit Anak Volcano on the Omninesia island. It’s a rare Temtem so it might take some grinding to get it, but you’ll be happy to have this ferocious Landshark on your team.

10 Nature: Nidrasil

While many Nature-based Temtems seem to be cute and cuddly, the Nidrasil is a fierce three-headed serpent similar to the Hydra from the ancient Greek mythos. Its red skin might trick some players into thinking it’s a Crystal type, but it’s actually a Nature/Toxic type Temtem.

It has some decent HP, Attack, and Defense stats making it a capable brawler to fight with, it’s toxic typing is also handy for whittling down tanks. It was first revealed following a naming contest and is confirmed to be in the game, but players haven’t quite found it yet so you’ll need to do some exploring on your own.

9 Water: Kalabyss

The Kalabyss is a terrifying-looking squid-like monster in Temtem that’s a Water/Toxic hybrid. Its white squid body is covered in black patches and dark protrusions from its head, this is definitely something you don’t want to encounter in the open water.

It has high HP and Defense stats with decent Attack, this is essentially a wall with teeth thanks to its toxic-based attacks that can drain an opponent’s HP. If you want this wicked looking Temtem go fishing for one in the Xolot Reservoir on Tucma island, there’s a 10% chance it’ll appear so settle in for some farming.

8 Electric: Amphatyr

The Amphatyr is a large deer-like Temtem with black and yellow coloring betraying its electric typing. It’s a proud creature that’s current stats are unknown as it’s not currently available in the game. Nor is it’s unevolved form Ampling.

It’s unclear when this magnificent beast will be included in the game, but it’s likely to be soon given the game’s popularity and its name was recently voted on by fans.

7 Mental: Myx

Myx is a terrifying Temtem that is described by its lore as a creature that was both feared and worshiped by mankind who believed it was the embodiment of evil spirits. It’s a Mental/Crystal hybrid with terrifying abilities like Hallucination and Crystal Spikes.

It has high Special Attack and Special Defense stats suggesting it could be a capable Special sweeper with the right moves. The only way to acquire on is to catch it’s unevolved form Occlura in Kupeleleza on Tucma island and level it up 18 times, they’re fairly common so it shouldn’t take much searching.

6 Earth: Mudrid

Mudrid are sort of like dog/rabbit hybrids. There’s a large crest that curves back behind their head and large green crystal-like spikes that protrude from their forehead, mane, and serve as their claws. They have great HP, excellent Speed, and a decent Special Attack.

To get one of these Earth/Crystal rabbits for yourself you can either hunt for one in the Mines of Mictlan on Tucma island, though they only appear 5% of the time. Or you can catch a much more common Bunbun from the same location and level it up 20 times.

5 Wind: Volarend

The Volarend is a Temtem described by the game as one large enough to give humans a ride, but vicious enough to destroy any that cause it problems. Given this bird’s steely-eyed gaze and considering its Wind/Toxic typing and it’s not hard to see why.

If you want this terrifying bird on your team you can grab one on a small island near Kupeleleza though it has a 5% chance of being encountered. If you’re not up for the grind you can catch it’s more common unevolved form Zephyruff from the same place or the Corrupted Badlands and Kupeleleza and level it up 20 times.

4 Crystal: Gyalis

In the world of Temtem Gyalis has a reputation for being a monster in horror movies, it's also capable of being rather tranquil assuming its trainer is kind to it. Nevertheless, it’s spindly appearance and jagged forearms make it a fighter with blazing Speed, high Attack, and a good amount of HP.

Obtaining this brawler isn’t easy as it can only be found in the Mines of Mictlan and has a 10% chance of appearing. But it’ll be worth it to get this awesome looking Crystal/Melee Temtem.

3 Digital: Zaobian

There are only two Digital Temtem in the game and Zaobian is by far the coolest. It resembles a hybrid of the character Stitch from Lilo And Stitch and the robot EVE from WALL-E. They’re described as an upgrade of their unevolved form Oree.

Neither Zaobian or Oree is obtainable for the player at this point in time. The only one encountered is in the possession of your rival Max whose starter is an Oree that evolves to a Zaobian over the course of the story.

2 Melee: Mushook

Mushook is a Melee/Toxic type that can pack quite the punch. It resembles a sentient mushroom that sprouted limbs and two large, gloved fists. The game describes them as strong monsters that are occasionally employed as sentries.

If you want one you’ll need to catch a Mushi in either the Corrupted Badlands or the Xolot Reservoir where it’s common then level it up 20 times.

1 Toxic: Noxolotl

Then finally the coolest looking Temtem in the Toxic category is the Noxolotl. It’s a serpentine dragon with a rainbow mane resembling dreadlocks. It’s a symbol used by the Tucmani due to it’s beautiful and noble features.

The only way to get one is to catch its unevolved form Toxolotl at the Xolot Reservoir and level it up 30 levels. It’s definitely worth it for this awesome Temtem.
