Tekken 7 continues to be one of the most popular fighting game titles in the world. The seventh installment of the conflict between the Mishima family and the King of Iron First Tournament has become one of the best selling Tekken titles of all time.

Released in arcades in 2015, and console in 2017, Tekken 7 marks the largest-ever span of time between entries in the franchise. The long-running game just released its final DLC character for Season Four, in the form of Polish leader Lidia Sobieska.

The official Tekken Twitter handle posted its accomplishment of selling over 7 million copies of the game. In addition to thanking its fans for their continued support, the account posted a commemorative illustration. The artwork includes the entire base Tekken 7 roster as well as characters from Season 4, like Lidia and Kunimitsu. The same tweet also says, "Now get ready for the next battle!" While this is the franchise's signature pre-fight slogan, some players are theorizing Bandai Namco could be hinting at a new game. As mentioned previously, Tekken 7 is roughly a six-year-old game, and with an expansive roster now boasting 53 playable characters, rumors of Season 4 being the final batch of post-launch content have begun to arise.

Several fans on Twitter are hoping for an announcement in the near future for either a "complete" next-gen port of Tekken 7 for PS5 and Xbox Series X, or perhaps even a Tekken 8. Series developer Bandai Namco did recently register a trademark for Bandai Namco Next, which many believe to be the company's own version of a digital game showcase. The publisher has remained radio silent regarding the trademark, and without a confirmation of showing up at E3, players will have to stay tuned to its social media accounts to figure out what's in store for the storied franchise.

Tekken 7 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
