Namco Bandai releases a trailer for the first Tekken 7 downloadable character and pre-order bonus, Eliza, an immortal vampire with supernatural and projectile attacks.

This year is already shaping up to be a great one for fighting game fans. Injustice 2, the next entry in the popular DC super hero fighting game, is planned for a Spring release, and later this year marks the long-awaited return of the crossover fighting series, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. The other major fighting game title this year, Tekken 7, continues to be fairly active this week, revealing new information and upcoming characters like the female vampire, Eliza.

To entice players to pick up the game on launch day, Namco Bandai has announced that a Day One edition of Tekken 7 can be had for early adopters. While Xbox One pre-orders unlock Tekken 6 and PlayStation 4 players receive Jukebox mode and legacy costumes, the real prize however is early access to a brand new character for all platforms.

All pre-orders and day one editions come with the supernatural and immortal vampire, Eliza, originally introduced through the free to play spin-off title Tekken Revolution. Fan support has helped propel Eliza into Tekken 7 after she was voted the number one most wanted character during a poll revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. Keep in mind that players who don't pre-order the game, will also be able to pick up Eliza at a later date.

Her debut trailer shows off her fighting prowess, as Eliza is able to utilize unique moves such as dive kicks, teleportation, and two projectile attacks, which appear to be energy waves that travel across the ground. In what appears to be a meter system similar to Street Fighter 5 and other guest character Akuma, Eliza has access to EZ and super moves, as demonstrated near the end of the video.

Oddly enough, Eliza also appears to have issues with narcolepsy as the character is seemingly able to fall asleep at a moments notice. While not much information has been revealed around this ability, the video does show it can be beneficial in avoiding certain attacks. What isn't clear however is if this is a special move players can control, or a gameplay mechanic that can affect her randomly.

Earlier this week, fans finally found out when Tekken 7 would be hitting store shelves after a lengthy 3 year development cycle. Namco Bandai wasted no time in revealing the next entry in the popular series is arriving on June 2, 2017. Alongside the release, players can also opt to purchase a season pass which offers a variety of new characters, costumes, stages, and a new game mode which has not been detailed as of yet.
