The unique combination of wacky, hilarious antics and fast-paced multiplayer FPS action is largely why Team Fortress 2 never fell out of players' hearts. The game offers all tons of silly emotes and cosmetics with which players can customize their individual classes. On the other hand, botting is at an all-time high, making it largely unenjoyable for Team Fortress 2 fans. In the case of one group, they utilized a clever trick that bypassed the bots entirely, allowing them to effortlessly win over the non-human players.
Valve has been struggling with Team Fortress 2 bots for a while now. The most recent patch was its attempt at getting rid of the bot problem. Unfortunately, players reported that bots had flooded the servers hours after, rendering the update ineffective. Worse, some bot operators began advertising "bot immunity" services, offering players the ability to avoid the bots in exchange for large sums of money. However, it would seem that there's a free-to-play way to avoid the bots and secure a victory, as evidenced by Reddit user 2Noel.
2Noel posted footage of a Team Fortress 2 match in which the Blu team was set up against a full-bot team. However, they weren't quick to give up. Instead, it would seem that the entire team was on the same page. On starting the match, they huddled into a circle in front of the spawn gate and utilized the Conga special taunt.
The result was all of the bot players completely ignoring the Blu team. In fact, it seemed as if the bot players didn't know that the Blu team had left their spawn point. Despite losing a Heavy and an Engineer at the beginning, the Blu team was carried forward by three relatively in-sync Scouts. Together, the three managed to capture all of the control points, including one heavily guarded by a group of bot snipers. They managed to win the game against all odds and had the great reward of eliminating the bots afterward.
As to why the bot players didn't notice the Blu team, the answer lies in their programming. A close look at the TF2 bot tools offers an option to "ignore taunting players." It would seem that bots are programmed to avoid shooting taunting or emoting players, which explains why some Blu members were eliminated immediately and the others unharmed. While not the most straightforward solution to the issue, it certainly falls within the boundaries of what Team Fortress 2 is known for.
