A fan of the Pokemon anime who also happens to be a tattoo artist has decided to tattoo every Gen 1 Pokemon and give all profits to an animal charity. Pokemon is a huge deal all over the world; most gamers have had the chance to experience a Pokemon game, and those that aren't as fond of gaming have still watched at least an episode or two of the anime. There's no doubt that Ash Ketchum and Pikachu are the two main faces of the entire franchise.

Recently, it was announced that Ash Ketchum's journey will be coming to an end. It was definitely a shocking piece of information, but it wasn't completely unexpected since the notorious protagonist had finally achieved his goal and won the Pokemon World Championship. It will certainly be a bittersweet moment, but Ash will still remain behind the screen until the end of 2023, and then two new protagonists will take his place and allow the boy to get some well-deserved rest.

William Langford, a tattoo artist from Suffolk, enjoys the Pokemon anime and was inspired to do some charity work when he heard that Ash Ketchum would be leaving the series after so many years. Langford wants to tattoo all 151 Gen 1 Pokemon, and, according to reports, the reason why he chose this generation, in particular, is due to the nostalgia that sparks inside him with the original Pokemon. The project is meant to be completed before the end of the year, which means that he intends to get through all 151 Pokemon around the time that Ash's character is supposed to leave the show.

The profits that the artist acquires by doing these tattoos will all go towards the Blue Cross charity, which is an animal charity. Langford chose this charity since he feels like animals really went through a lot in the last couple of years. The COVID-19 pandemic really changed the living situation of many families, and, unfortunately, it resulted in many pets being either rehomed or abandoned. This is just one of the many cases in which gaming and charity work have come together and resulted in a wholesome mix.

Many of the Pokemon tattoos that William Langford has already done have been posted on his Instagram. The Pokemon in the tattoos are inspired by Gen 1 sprites, but they are designed according to the client's preferences, so they're completely custom-made.
