It is a well-known fact at this point that it has been exceptionally difficult for gamers to get their hands on next-gen consoles. Many people were, unfortunately, still left empty-handed even after the many restocks that Black Friday offered. A new report, however, may just offer those wanting to purchase a PS5 console some light at the end of the tunnel.

Jake Randall, a well-known PS5 restock insider and trader announced on Twitter that a new Target PS5 restock will be coming before Saturday and it will apparently be the biggest that the company has had thus far. The Target restock will be limited to online orders only with in-store pickup which means that camping outside the store will not be a viable option for those wanting to get their hands on a console.

Sony is becoming increasingly desperate to get PS5 consoles into the hands of their fans. The company even committed to flying large quantities of PS5 consoles to the UK in order to increase the amount of available stock over the holiday season. This is owing to the fact that many fans have still not been able to purchase the console over a year after its initial launch.

Walmart has had numerous PS5 restocks in the past months although many of these consoles were quickly snatched up by scalpers making use of bots. Many companies have tried to solve this issue but the scalpers always seem to find ways to work around these solutions. Target has tried to minimize this issue by making customers pick up their PS5 consoles in-store after they have purchased them. This will allow the retailer to discern if there is one person attempting to purchase multiple consoles.

On Black Friday Walmart offered its own solution to the problem by offering Walmart+ members early access to PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles. Walmart+ members who were on a free trial also had to wait until the online store opened to the rest of the masses which means that hopefully consumers who intended to actually use the consoles were able to get hold of one.

Even Verizon hopped on the trend of selling PS5 consoles early last month with the company introducing its own solution to deal with scalpers. Anyone wanting to purchase a PS5 console from Verizon has to have an existing Verizon wireless account which, hopefully, many scalpers do not have in quantity.
