As October draws to a close, several video game retailers are already preparing for Black Friday, which is one of the biggest shopping events of the year. Yesterday, Amazon introduced its buy 3 for the price of 1 sale, which offers massive savings on select video games.

Now, Target is following suit with a similar video-game promotion that allows players to buy 2 games and get 1 for free. To participate in the sale, players must select three eligible games, and Target will deduct the price of the cheapest one upon checkout. For example, if a player purchases three games worth $60, Target will only charge the players $120, which is why it is important for players to build their bundles wisely. We still don't know for sure how retailers will approach Black Friday this year, but we've predicted some deals that we think will become available during the holiday.

Headlining Target's list is the recently released action-RPG game, The Outer Worlds. Since its release, the game is often compared to Bethesda's Fallout 76, with some players using the success of The Outer Worlds to criticize Bethesda's online game. However, it appears that The Outer Worlds' devs are not happy with their game being used to "tear down" Fallout 76. In a recent interview, director Tim Cain said, "It's disheartening when your game is used to tear down another game."

Another recently released game that is eligible with Target's promotion is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Since its release, the game has received mostly positive reviews, and reports surfaced recently that Modern Warfare is already outselling Black Ops 4 in the UK. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was released several days ago to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
