Starring as Sarah Malik in the show is 8-year-old actor Tara Moayedi. We spoke with Moayedi about landing her breakout role, her biggest fears, and how she balances her acting career with her school life and hobbies. Talking about starring in the science-fiction series, the young actor shared that this series marked her first-ever audition. She said, "When I got the role, I was at my house. And then my agent called us with the news. Then suddenly, like our house was filled with cheers. But, it was just like every acting process. We got the self-tape request from my agent, I put myself on tape. We got a callback. I did a screen test. And then I finally got the role." When it came to her screen test, she traveled to New York City to meet up with producers shoot a few test scenes with her on-screen brother.

This major project hasn't affected life too much as she is still able to enrich her personal hobbies and continue to advocate for her favorite charity organization. Moayedi spoke passionately about both topics during our conversation. She expressed, "I have a daily schedule and I follow that schedule every day. On my schedule, I have listed everything I do every day. Thank you to my parents who taught me how to manage and divide my time. But believe me, at the end of the day, I still have time to do other stuff like watch TV and play video games, and have fun." The young actor went on to share her favorite channels. "I watched Nickelodeon when I was little but I don't watch that so much anymore. I love Disney and Apple TV+."

In addition to watching animated movies on her favorite streaming services, she also is a major advocate for the nonprofit Child Foundation. Opening up about her support, Moayedi added, "I help the Child Foundation. It's a foundation that we give money to. It [the money] goes [to] help kids in need. The reason that I support Child Foundation is because kids need to explore their talents so they can be successful in life. So, I started working with Child Foundation so more and more kids every day can get a chance to explore their talents."

Game Rant continued to chat with Moayedi about her character Sarah Malik and how she handles filming the scary sequences in Invasion.

Game Rant: Talk to me about your character Sarah. How did she challenge you as an actor and how would you describe her?

Tara Moayedi: Sara is basically a six-year-old, very playful, intuitive, and curious little girl. She is trying to deal with the situation that she is in. I think my talent and personality made me special for the role because my teacher in kindergarten always told me that my talent is perfect for acting. So, she was the first one who told me to start acting.

GR: How would you describe her journey throughout the series?

TM: In my own words, I would describe her journey as very terrorizing because she has to deal with some aliens and stuff.

GR: There are a lot of spooky elements in the show. Did that scare you as an actor?

TM: We had to visualize all of this because they wouldn't bring an alien in front of us. We had to visualize all this and then the aliens got added in the final edit in the post-production.

GR: What did you see when you were visualizing it? How did you get in that mindset?

TM: In my mind, I would usually see, like, a scary thing chasing me or me in a scary place. Just something scary that would get me in a paralyzing mood. I used to picture bears and stuff attacking me. Monsters, aliens, sea monsters, stuff like that. I don't like bears. Especially grizzlies.

GR: How would you describe the series finale in your own words?

TM: If I described it in three words, I would say surprising, survival, and thrilling.

GR: Talk to me a little bit about creating chemistry with your castmates and your on-screen brother. How did you guys bond and get to know each other during production?

TM: I love my on-screen family. A few days before, we went to a park for family photos. I don't know how to explain it but we went to a park and then we took photos, and from there we created a good bond and it looked so real. Whenever I used to be next to my on-screen parents and I was like talking with them and stuff, I always used to feel that these are like my second kind of family. Like my second brother, my second mother, and stuff like that.

GR: As this is your debut role and you have a long career ahead of you, do you have a dream role in mind?

TM: I don't have a dream role, but my ultimate goal is to be a superhero when I grew up. I like to also explore different areas of acting, so I can go up to a higher level of acting. I want to explore comedy.
