The Tales of series is unique in many ways, and Tales of Arise takes that a step further. Many of the iconic features within previous Tales of games are replaced or modified for this entry, and the New Game Plus system is no exception. Veterans of the franchise will remember the Grade system, in which players gather up Grade points as they play through the game. After completing the main story, they could spend these Grade points in order to determine what carries over to the next playthrough. This meant that unless players spent a good deal of time farming Grade points, they'd need to pick and choose which benefits they'd like to carry over. That's still true in the new title, but to a lesser extent.

Among the many changes Tales of Arise makes to the franchise formula, Grade points are completely removed. Instead, players must collect special artifacts as they progress through the game. These will determine what gets carried over after players beat the game and move on to their first New Game Plus cycle.

First, it's important to note that all of the player's artifact effects will be carried over into the second playthrough no matter what. This means that bonuses to experience gained from the Golden Suit of Armor or better cooking will remain as long as players found those artifacts in their initial playthrough. For everything else, there is a specific artifact that must be found to determine what else will carry over. In total there are seven artifacts that give players a stronger New Game Plus, here's where to get them all. Keep in mind that all of these Tales of Arise New Game Plus artifacts can only be obtained after accessing the final dungeon.
