WotLK Tailoring Complete Guide
Tailoring is a primary crafting profession in World of Warcraft: WotLK. It largely involves creating armor from cloth found on various humanoids throughout the game. There are some new recipes in Wrath of the Lich King Classic that come along with the increased level cap of professions, from 375 to 450. The most notable reasons one would choose to level Tailoring are for Embroideries, Bags, and the new Magical Flying Mounts. There are also a select few armor pieces that are very strong or even Best in Slot for some classes.
Tailoring doesn’t require any other gathering profession to level up. All the required materials can be obtained from slain monsters and some supplementary materials are purchased from Trades Vendors. However, most players choose to level Enchanting alongside Tailoring. Many of the items crafted by Tailors can be disenchanted to provide additional materials that Tailors and Enchanters can use in other recipes.
Due to the nature of the random chance with some recipes, sometimes we have to use the "approximately" symbol (~) often to show the average amount of crafts and materials needed.

350 - 450: Required Materials for WotLK Tailoring
We've separated the table below into 2 sections: 350-440 and 440-450. At 440, you can craft everything in the game until Ulduar, a raid beloved by many players, comes out with new recipes. There are 2 paths to 450 from 440; either continue making Frostweave Bags to slowly reach 450 as the recipe is now green, or craft the corresponding Gloves and/or Robes of the new Elemental Cloths: Moonshroud, Spellweave, and Ebonweave. Keep in mind the materials for these can be difficult to farm, or if you have the gold just purchase it all on the Auction House.

At 325 Tailoring a quest will be available to players with Master Tailoring from the Tailoring Trainer. Allowing the ability to learn a passive buff called Northern Cloth Scavenging. This increases the frequency and amount of Frostweave Cloth that can be looted from humanoids across Northrend. There may also be extra Frostweave Cloth off of humanoids slain by your party members.

These cloths are available to craft at 415 (and turn grey at 435) and don’t require any Elemental Specialization. However, if you did previously choose one, you have a chance to receive an extra piece of that cloth when crafting them.
