Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Platform PS4
  • Release Dec 31, 2015
  • Developer Naughty Dog
  • Publisher Sony
Official Site:

Naughty Dog has set a high bar for storytelling and involving gameplay, with their Playstation-exclusive Uncharted series being no exception. As the Indiana Jones-esque Nathan Drake, descended from the legendary explorer Sir Francis Drake, players explore the world in search of famed treasure. In Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, players will join up with Drake’s long-lost older brother to find pirate treasure, putting family bonds to the test.

The road to release has been rocky for this highly anticipated game. Lead writer Amy Henning and director Justin Richmond left the series in March of 2014 for new studios, and the original voice actor for Drake’s brother left a month later. But Uncharted 4 has snapped back—the directors of The Last of Us have taken over the project in Hennig’s stead, and Troy Baker will replace Todd Stashwick as Drake’s brother.

Though the game has been delayed until early 2016, Naughty Dog’s efforts on the Uncharted series have always been ambitious and executed with the highest degree of quality. With the directors for the much beloved The Last of Us behind Uncharted 4, this could easily be the cinematic gaming event we’ve all been waiting for.
