Rainbow Six Siege
PC, PS4, Xbox One
- Release Dec 31, 2015
Though fans of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series might have been worried when Rainbow Six: Patriots was cancelled, Rainbow Six Siege is here to pay service to the beloved shooter series.
The Rainbow Six series is famed for being realistic and heavily reliant on team-based strategy, and Rainbow Six Siege will continue that trend. This game will also feature a heavier emphasis on multiplayer, including new modes like Hostage Rescue that will require heavy strategy to avoid losing the one life granted to each player in the mode.
Also emphasized in Rainbow Six Siege is destruction, as the game will make use of new technology to allow players all-new approaches to eliminating enemies and achieving their objectives. The close-quarters combat will return, forcing players to make the most of their surroundings.
Though there is no word yet of a single-player campaign, Ubisoft has emphasized their dedication to making an enjoyable and well-executed multiplayer mode. Players will have to vote on strategies, optimizing both the combat and PVP aspects of the online multiplayer.
Rainbox Six Siege aims to take the team tactics and close-quarters combat that make the series so popular and redefine them for a new gaming age—making it the next-gen tactical tribute to the beloved series we can’t get enough of.
