LEGO has seen resurgence into popular culture with The Lego Movie and the LEGO video game series, turning your favorite franchises into brick-shattering adventure games. Now, with LEGO Dimensions, the series is bridging the gap between physical toys and video games. Following in the footsteps of Skylanders and Disney Infinity, LEGO Dimensions will allow you to play with LEGO figures in a virtual world.

LEGO Dimensions features a starter pack with a few famous figures to start—Batman, Gandalf, Wyldstyle, and the Batmobile all come standard with the game. From there, players can expand their collections with packs for different franchises, including Back to the Future, LEGO’s Ninjago, The Lego Movie, and The Wizard of Oz. The Xbox One trailer is even rumored to feature appearances from Portal and Scooby Doo, allowing for a huge amount of crossovers and variety in the figures available.

All of these characters will unite to fight off a masked enemy out to wreak havoc on the various LEGO worlds. The starter set will be $100 for LEGO Dimensions, the portal needed for transport into the video game world, and three figures. Additional packs will be available for $15 – $30 each depending on size.
