The wait is almost over for fans of Sora, Riku, and Kairi—Kingdom Hearts III will return players to the unique blend of Final Fantasy and Disney that is the heart of the franchise.

The third core game in the series will once again feature Sora as its main protagonist, as he joins forces with familiar faces to find the Guardians of Light and end the plans of Master Xehanort for good. Featuring new mechanics, like implementing famous Disneyland rides into combat and transforming Keyblades, Kindom Hearts III is sure to satisfy series fans, who have been waiting for this game since Kingdom Hearts 2 launched in 2005.

Kingdom Hearts III will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One, making it the first game in the series to be offered on more than one platform—and the first to appear on a Microsoft platform.

Square Enix has denied rumors that it will release in 2015, so the game is now expected to launch in 2016. While gamers still face a year or so of anticipation for the third entry in the series, Kingdom Hearts III is sure to be a visual and gameplay treat, combining one of the best RPG series with some of our favorite Disney worlds and characters.
