What is Horizon: Zero Dawn?

Horizon: Zero Dawn is an open world action-RPG from Guerrilla Games developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4, the company’s first original IP since Killzone launched in 2004 for the PS2. In Horizon: Zero Dawn, players take control of Aloy, a skilled hunter who decides to seek out the secrets of the post-apocalyptic world where she lives. Aloy’s world is populated by various tribes she can interact with to unlock side quests and move the story forward, along with a variety of animal-like robotic creatures that serve as the main threat in the game.

Aloy is able to take down these mechanical creatures with her powerful bow, an assortment of melee weapons, or traps that can be used strategically to take down some of the larger beasts in the game. By destroying these beasts, Aloy is able to salvage their parts for crafting materials, plus she makes the area safer and easier for her to explore. While exploring the open world, Aloy will come across hidden items, campfires that work like save points and fast travel points, and special Corruption Zone areas of the map that feature more aggressive enemies to battle.
