Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
PC, PS4, Xbox One
- Release Dec 31, 2015
Despite video games being the perfect medium to showcase the cyberpunk genre, there aren’t a whole lot of series taking advantage of that. But maybe that’s because the Deus Ex series is already doing it so well, exploring ideas about human advancement, globalization, and transhumanism with engaging gameplay and a killer story. With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in the mix, the series is sure to see a resurgence in popularity.
Details about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided are still being held under wraps, but some plot details have begun to surface. The game will take place shortly after Human Revolution, and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will return to Adam Jensen as the protagonist, who has undergone radical bio-mechanical augmentation surgery after an accident that almost killed him. The fifth game in the series will feature the same blend of RPG, shooter, and steal mechanics that make it appealing to such a wide fanbase.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will use the Glacier 2 engine, also used in Hitman: Absolution, and will likely be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Though there is no release date yet, Square Enix has released concept art and a trailer that have fans hoping it will be in the near future.
