  • Platform PC, PS4, Xbox One
  • Release Dec 31, 2016
  • Developer Yager Development
  • Publisher Deep Silver
Official Site: deadisland2.deepsilver.com

Dead Island 2, the fourth game in the Dead Island series, is set to be bigger, badder, and more brutal than ever. Set a few months after Dead Island, Dead Island 2 will take players to a California under quarantine to exterminate the undead hordes and save the Golden State from destruction.

Dead Island 2 hopes to address some of the concerns about the first game in the series, with a larger map and different combat mechanics. It’s intended to be more brutal than the first, with more fragile but also deadlier zombies, meaning players will need to develop new fighting styles to fight the horde. Popular mechanics will return from prior games as well, including the game’s Rage and weapon crafting systems, both of which can give players an extra boost.

Early gameplay footage has shown a brighter, more vibrant setting with real-world California landmarks to enhance Dead Island 2‘s immersion factor. The game will feature four playable characters to choose from, as well as competitive and cooperative multiplayer for extended play value.

Dead Island 2 looks to be the fun and entertaining zombie slaughterfest fans are hoping for, featuring ridiculously bloody decapitations and over-the-top weapon modifications to make each kill a thrilling success.
