Dark Souls II

Dark Souls II
  • Platform PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One
  • Release Mar 11, 2014
  • Developer From Software
  • Publisher Namco Bandai
Official Site: www.darksoulsii.com

From Software’s games are famed for their intense difficulty but rewarding experience, and Dark Souls II is no exception. The story is intentionally vague—so that players must discover it over several playthroughs—but follows the player’s Undead character, as they search for a cure for their condition.

The combat is difficult and requires a great deal of trial and error, as there is very little instruction and handholding throughout the course of the game. It also features a unique multiplayer system in which players can call other players for help. However, this help system can also be invaded by enemy players that then must be fought off. While this level of difficulty may drive some players away, fans of the original Dark Souls will find plenty to enjoy in this dark and dismal sequel.

The game was critically acclaimed upon its release, earning high praise for its atmosphere, terror, and difficulty. An updated version of Dark Souls II, that will include DLCs, is planned for release in 2015.
