For the last two years, Nintendo has had quite the assortment of irons in its collective fire, but now it seems that fans have an additional thing to look forward to. According to a recent report, Nintendo is developing a revamped version of its current gaming system, the Nintendo Switch.

Following its release in March of 2017, the Nintendo Switch has seen its fair share of successes. With the numerous third party titles and award winning console exclusives, Nintendo has built its own little slice of gaming paradise with this system. Plus, with all of the new Nintendo games set to release in 2020, fans could not be more excited.

However, according to new information that was leaked out of Taiwan, via a source in Korea, it seems that Nintendo is developing a new model for the Nintendo Switch called the Nintendo Switch Pro. The report mentions that Nintendo is working with Nvidia to create a new custom processor to help games run more smoothly.

In addition, this new model of the Nintendo Switch will also include an upgraded battery, but the source did not go into too much detail in that regard. If this news is true, then it is certainly a welcome upgrade, considering the poor battery life of the current model of the Nintendo Switch. According to the report, this updated version of the console is set to release during the fourth quarter of 2020.

Something that fans have noted is the absence of 4K optimization. This a problem that Nintendo has faced for quite some time now. In terms of video resolution and graphical capability, the Nintendo Switch is currently behind both the Xbox One and the PS4. Despite the fact that the Nintendo Switch features more games in 2019 than both the XBOX One and PS4 combined.

Having said this, if there's one thing that Nintendo has always been known for, it is the distinct and innovative nature of all of its console exclusives. With so many widely successful and memorable IPs, Nintendo's strength has always stemmed from the quality of the games themselves, not the graphical performance of the system. With so many new games on the horizon, this new model of the system will be sure to excite fans.
