To help celebrate the big 35th anniversary of Mario last year, Nintendo released Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch. It was a collection of three old-school Mario 3D platformers that included remastered ports of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. It was one of the many announcements to come out of a special Nintendo Direct that was entirely dedicated to the mustachioed plumber.

Another announcement that came out of this direct was the news that Super Mario 3D World would be coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2021 and would include extra content in the form of Bowser's Fury and online multiplayer as well. A new trailer was shown off for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury this week and Nintendo is pulling no stops when it comes to promoting the awaited platformer.

If Mario fans head on over to the Nintendo Switch eShop now, there is a new Easter egg that's been added to the digital shopping application. In addition to the 8-bit Mario and Super Mario 64 Mario appearing during loading screens, Cat Mario has joined the party as well and will pop up occasionally when players search around the eShop.

The Cat suit is a fairly new Mario power-up that was introduced in Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U that allows Mario and Co. to climb up walls and pounce at enemies while looking extremely adorable.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is set to launch for the Nintendo Switch on February 12th.
