Incorporating working out into video games has been hit or miss for a long time. Games have utilized movement in order to create workouts that are challenging on the body and fun on the mind. Games like Wii Fit, Dance Dance Revolution, and even Pokemon GO are designed to keep people active and healthy. Now, a new workout game is utilizing VR to create workouts that pull you from reality.

The newest workout game is actually a membership service using the Oculus Quest to provide workouts from encouraging trainers. The service is called Supernatural and allows members to work out in their choice of location and music with a game that is similar to Beat Saber, as both Beat Saber and Supernatural utilize the hand-tracking controller to swing a virtual saber along to the music.

Supernatural takes another step with the interactive workouts. Not only can the player swing the controllers, but they will also move their whole body to move through virtual obstacles as well. Right now, memberships are only available in the US and Canada but the company will most likely make it available in other regions.

Workout video games have a hard challenge to be successful. Users must feel like the workout is worth it, but also have to enjoy the game aspect as well. Some workout games fail to give users the best of both worlds, but Supernatural is using new technology and has potential to be a enjoyable workout from home.

The Supernatural membership service is available now in Canada and the United States.
