Despite a number of major superhero films being delayed to next year in accordance with the spread of the coronavirus, Superman: Man of Tomorrow, a new animated film based around the titular DC hero, will supposedly still be hitting screens this year. Better yet, it seems the cast for the movie has finally been shown off, with a number of significant names heading up the film's leading roles.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the film will see Darren Criss of Glee and Midway fame taking on the role of Superman, while Star Trek and Heroes' Zachary Quinto will step into the shoes of his arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor. Alongside the two iconic DC characters, Baywatch and True Detective star Alexandra Daddario will assume the role of Louis Lane, while Agents of SHIELD and Until Dawn star Brett Dalton will take on Lobo.

Finally, The Walking Dead's Ryan Hurst will assume the mantel of supervillain Parasite, while Ike Amadi, a star who recently featured in Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revengewill play Martian Manhunter. Supposedly, the plot will follow "Clark Kent working as an intern for the Daily Planet and learning on the job how to save the city of Metropolis."

It seems the film will combine a number of the iconic superheroes' most notable characters and themes, meaning it'll likely be an essential watch for fans of the Man of Steel. This isn't the only time the classic superhero has popped up in the news recently, with a recent report claiming that Warner Brothers rejected Rocksteady's pitch for Superman video game, leaving many fans baffled as to why.

Superman: Man of Tomorrow will be released later this year.
