Superhot has seen major success on a variety of platforms, thanks to its unique bullet time-esque gameplay hook. Though the game first released back in 2016, Superhot has since come to Nintendo Switch, current-generation platforms such as Xbox Series X, and even VR.

Now, Superhot VR is getting a major performance enhancement on one specific platform. The official Superhot Twitter announced that VR players using the Oculus Quest 2 can enjoy the game at a smooth 120 FPS, though it's still an experimental feature.

Players can enable this setting in the game's settings menu, as it could prove a bit too much for VR users who are more sensitive to the effects of the headset if it was the default. This 120 FPS mode was only made possible thanks to the Oculus Quest 2's 120 hz update last month. Players who want to enable this higher refresh rate for the actual headset itself can do so in the Oculus menu settings, but players should be warned that the 120 hz feature is still a work-in-progress. Still, provided the feature works as intended, Superhot could look and run amazingly with a smooth 120 FPS boost.

It seems this 120 hz update could prove to be yet another success for the Oculus Quest 2. The Oculus Quest 2 is the best-selling Oculus headset by a quite a large margin, and this feature will undoubtedly be a massive draw for players wanting to break into the VR space. It will also make for an interesting draw for developers who want to take their games to the next level, such as Superhot Team. Superhot's bullet time slow motion gameplay is all about reacting to and anticipating enemy combatants' movements, as well as taking in the surrounding environment to puzzle-solve in real time. As such, being able to experience the game in an immersive VR setting in 120 FPS could make reacting to enemies even easier.

Superhot: Mind Control Delete is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
