Almost all of the previously announced DLC costume packs for Super Street Fighter 4 are coming sooner rather than later. The only two DLC packs that have not seen their release date moved up are the Ultra Femme Fatale Pack and the Ultra Complete Pack, which includes all of the DLC at a discount.

The release dates for all of the upcoming costume packs are now as follows:

  • Ultra Femme Fatale Pack - November 16, providing alternate costumes for Chun-Li, C. Viper, Sakura, Rose, and Cammy;
  • Ultra Challengers Pack 2 - December 7, providing alternate costumes for Juri, Ibuki, Cody, Adon, and T. Hawk;
  • Ultra Brawlers Pack - December 21, providing alternate costumes for Zangief, E. Honda, Rufus, Abel, and El Fuerte;
  • Ultra Shadaloo Pack - January 11, providing alternate costumes for Vega, Sagat, Balrog, Bison, and Seth;
  • Ultra Classic Pack - January 25, providing alternate costumes for Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, and Fei Long; and
  • Ultra Complete Pack - April 26, providing all 35 Ultra Costumes.

Previously the Ultra Classic Pack, the last individual costume pack, was not set to release until March 15, but now it and every other individual costume pack will be available for purchase before the end of January. That is some pretty great news for fans of the game looking forward to getting their fighters in some new threads. And according to Super Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono, the change in release schedule was made because of the fans wanting to get their hands on the new costumes ASAP.

Capcom has a pretty good track record of listening to and taking care of its fans when it comes to its fighting-game community. For example, Capcom let fans get some early hands-on time with Super Street Fighter 4 itself and now Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at the traveling Fight Club events. Additionally, Capcom went so far as to ask fans what characters they wanted to see in Super Street Fighter 4 in the first place and even changed the game's North American box art after fans voiced disapproval. Now the costume packs are coming out sooner than previously announced. Good for Capcom. Taking care of the community that supports your business is smart.
