Nintendo Unloads a Bounty of New ‘Super Smash Bros.’ Screenshots

By | 3 years ago

It’s been nearly two weeks since the Big N held a Nintendo Direct dedicated to Super Smash Bros., but all that presentation has done is raise anticipation for the titles tenfold. There was already a ton of media that accompanied the Direct, and ample amounts of new details as well, but apparently the company wasn’t satisfied because it has since unloaded a plethora of screenshots pertaining to the five fighters that were confirmed during the Smash showcase.

Fighters like Greninja and Charizard are at the forefront of the new screenshots, and they look to have made the transition to the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. in grandiose fashion. These Pocket Monsters also share the stage with Zero Suit Samus and Sheik, which will now occupy their own respective roster slots, and the longtime veteran Yoshi (who many prematurely feared would be cut before the Direct eventually confirmed his appearance).

There are a ridiculous number of screenshots to browse through, but that’s far from a bad thing for fans that are hungry for more Smash-related media. With that in mind, check out the immense gallery below:

Even more screenshots, newcomers, and veterans are sure to be confirmed building up to and during E3 2014, but it’s hard to determine what else awaits. Character reveals like Greninja and Wii Fit Trainer have been surprising revelations for fans (and a hinderance for those putting together roster predictions), but there are sure to be many more upsets in the coming months.

Since the 3DS version is releasing sooner than the Wii U installment, there isn’t much time to raise the proverbial curtain off of the games’ roster, so stay tuned to Game Rant for more coverage on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be hitting store shelves in Winter 2014, while the 3DS version will release this Summer.
