Revealed earlier this month during E3 2021, Kazuya Mishima from the acclaimed Tekken series is heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. This character marks the fifth fighter to come to the game's second downloadable Fighters Pass. And like other DLC fighters to come to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the character's pack comes with some extra goodies, like 39 music tracks from the Tekken franchise, a stage based on Mishima Dojo, and, of course, Kazuya himself.
Today, Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the Smash Bros. series, held a livestreamed presentation to show off more gameplay of Kazuya, giving fans a look at how the Tekken fighter plays in Smash Bros. and even revealing when fans can get their hands on the new fighter. If players are wondering when they can get their hands on the new fighter to try out their skills in battle, here's when Tekken's Kazuya should unlock in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
What Time Does Kazuya Release in Super Smash Bros?
Nintendo did not officially confirm the release time for Kazuya in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during the presentation today. Still, most of the fighters that are part of this second fighters pass have been released around the same time. So as long as Nintendo stays true to its previous Smash Bros. updates, fans can expect Kazuya Mishima to launch at around 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT on June 29th, 2021, which is Tuesday evening.
Here are the release times for various time zones:
- GMT - 4 AM - (Wednesday)
- ET - 9 PM
- CT - 8 PM
- MST - 7 PM
- PT - 6 PM
Downloadable characters such as Min Min and Minecraft Steve were also released at 9 PM ET on their respective launch days and are typically released alongside a small update for the game that brings some balancing changes and other fixes. This DLC character won't be free for all players, however. Kazuya's character pack will cost folks $5.99 for standalone purchase. The Fighters Pass volume 2 can still be purchased for $29.99 and gives players access to all of the DLC characters that are part of this pass. So if someone were to buy it now, they would immediately gain access to Min Min, Steve, Pyra/Mythra, Sephiroth, Kazuya, and whoever the sixth fighter ends up being.
There's no confirmation on who the next character is, but Sakurai mentioned during the livestream that it'll take longer than usual for the character to release but fans can still expect for it to release before the end of the year.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
