Kingdom Hearts has been an incredibly unique experience that offers plenty of cryptic riddles within its lore. Many fans have enjoyed looking at what information the games give closely to figure out their secrets, and some KH mysteries have been a recurring staples much like Final Fantasy and its constant Cids. Some fans have figured out that when it comes to the release of Sora's Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC, some details regarding his inclusion may play into one of the series' frequent quirks.

Kingdom Hearts is a rather big fan of two specific numbers, which are 7 and 13. The use of those numbers goes from the simple inclusion such as Organization XIII and the Seven Guardians of Light, to even more meta uses such as how counting every Kingdom Hearts title released makes KH3 the 13th title, whereas if you count the titles that specifically have numbers, KH3 is the 7th. Far as the meta-references to the numbers go, it seems Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has gotten in on the fun.

Fans have noticed that the final DLC update for Smash Ultimate has been noted as Version 13.0.0, which releases 13 days after Sora's initial reveal. In the milestone trailer Sakurai shared for the game in the final presentation, Mythra and Pyra were counted as two separate fighters, which would make Sora the 13th DLC fighter added to the game. When it comes to the second Fighters Pass by itself as well, counting Mythra and Pyra as two fighters like Sakurai had, that makes Sora the 7th fighter in the pack.

While the counts Sakurai shared may have been to bolster the number of fighters a tad, the way it all worked out seems far too perfect for it to be a coincidence. Fans have speculated that this was entirely on purpose, which wouldn't be too unbelievable with how Sakurai has played all of the Kingdom Hearts games himself. Fans have also joked that this was personally requested by Tetsuya Nomura, the creator of Kingdom Hearts himself, as part of letting Sora join the battle.

The potential that Sora's DLC release date was specifically set up to allow this to happen is incredibly hilarious but even funnier that it isn't that much of a stretch to believe. Kingdom Hearts is notorious for sticking 13's and 7's anywhere it can possibly manage, and it's even funnier when the reason for all of this effort into release dates is simply because those numbers are Tetsuya Nomura's favorite numbers.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for Nintendo Switch, with Sora's DLC releasing October 18th.
