Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Confirms SNK Next DLC Fighter

During Nintendo's September Direct, there were three major reveals for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The first confirmed Banjo-Kazooie's release date for the crossover fighter, the second revealed the fourth fighter (and his release window) of the Fighters Pass, and the final confirmed that more characters would be on the way after the 5th character on the current Fighters Pass.

As teased previously, the fourth character of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes from an SNK property. This was confirmed to be Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury: King of Fighters. For those who are unfamiliar with the character, he enters a tournament in the game determined to kill Geese Howard, a criminal who killed his father. He's also the poster boy for SNK, meaning that he was the obvious choice to be added to the game.

Of course, just because he is the obvious choice doesn't mean he is going to satisfy everyone. There are a ton of SNK properties that have massive followings that could have had characters appear, so some may be disappointed. On the other hand, it's nice to see an SNK DLC character appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at all.

It's also worth adding that this reveal was also shortly spoiled prior to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Like Overwatch on the Switch, Terry Bogard was leaked prior to his confirmation with a GIF that showed him using his iconic Buster Wolf move. However, his reveal trailer below may do more to sate those who are excited for the character.

Those who are excited to see Terry in Smash Ultimate do not have much longer to wait to get their hands on the character. Alongside his confirmation, Nintendo confirmed his release to be sometime in November 2019. With Banjo's release date being this September, this may suggest the 5th character of this Fighters Pass would come January 2020. As aforementioned, however, that won't be the end of DLC characters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
